It took two or three sessions before the therapist and I

actually got to where I would trust the therapist

and realized she wasn't a threat to me.

I think my roughest sessions were,

was in the substance abuse area, though.

And it wasn't necessarily the withdrawals and that,

but from the profession I was in, now I'm in with the people

that I used to deal with in that profession.

And that was a hurdle to get over.

Being in law enforcement,

I saw the same people that I was arresting.

I saw the same people,

I really wasn't listening to their stories.

I guess, for lack of a better word, I worked with

the dregs of life, now I was seeing the dregs of life.

And coming from one place and trying to put yourself

down to the other place, that was a period of adjustment.
