I don't see it as a stigma,

but I think society may see it sometimes as a stigma,

and I think it's very important, again, for a spouse

to know that it's not a stigma.

It is not something that you need to be ashamed of

in your husband, or your wife, or whoever it is that has it,

and I think education of the public

will probably take care of that.

And I think this particular war, bringing home so many

brain-injured kids, is going to help us even more

to know that it's not a stigma.

I think Jim has a very strong ability

to deal with horrible things, but I also think he has

put a lot of that into his unconscious.

And I think I need to be aware -- and every time I hear

a story about Jim from his soldiers, I am amazed

at what this man has carried with him.

So that gives me strength to be,

hopefully, more compassionate.
