I don't see it as a stigma,
but I think society may see it sometimes as a stigma,
and I think it's very important, again, for a spouse
to know that it's not a stigma.
It is not something that you need to be ashamed of
in your husband, or your wife, or whoever it is that has it,
and I think education of the public
will probably take care of that.
And I think this particular war, bringing home so many
brain-injured kids, is going to help us even more
to know that it's not a stigma.
I think Jim has a very strong ability
to deal with horrible things, but I also think he has
put a lot of that into his unconscious.
And I think I need to be aware -- and every time I hear
a story about Jim from his soldiers, I am amazed
at what this man has carried with him.
So that gives me strength to be,
hopefully, more compassionate.
