We try and do this in a graded way, a little bit at a time,
so that you don't freak out.
We don't take you and throw you into the middle of the ocean
to get used to the water.
We put you in the shallow end of the pool.
And then when you get used to that,
we have you go into a little bit more of the deep end,
and a little bit more, and a little bit more.
That's how Exposure therapy works.
Now, that's not to mean or say we do it easily.
We want to push you -- no pain no gain --
but once you have that pain and you control it
and you work through it, then you get stronger.
