It doesn't trouble me today.

Jeff Goodrich (Army National Guard, US Army, 1984 - 2006) talks about how PTSD treatment can help.

Well, I think that a simple story is

when I retired I put my Class A uniform in a bag

and made sure it was sort of buried in a locker (laughs)

because I didn't want to look at it.

And one of my

first questions

through the initial identification of my PTSD

was, "Would you bring that uniform out of the locker

and maybe hang it in your closet where you'll see it

to be comfortable with it and be habituated with it

and try not to avoid it?"

Now, I don't have a problem.

I mean I actually...

it doesn't trouble me today.

I think that it's...the uniform is still a trigger,

but it's a trigger in a sense of

it serves as a greater connection,

it gives me actually a good feeling to think about

the service that it represents,

the other veterans and their service similarly.

I enjoy seeing and interacting

with other veterans in uniform.
