It doesn't make you a less soldier.

Timothy Laynor, US Army 2003 - 2011, shares his advice for others who may be concerned about PTSD.

It's OK to have PTSD.

It is something that is aware now, it's out there,

that if you can say you have it, there are people

out there to help you.

It doesn't make you a less soldier.

To me, it actually, I think it makes me a better soldier.

And it does not mean that your career is over, it just means

that you have to look at it differently.

You need to look at yourself and say, "Hey, this is who I am.

This is who I need to become to get back to where I was."

And from there, I think that you start a kind of rolling effect.

'Cause once that person has said, "I have it

and this is what I do to help me, this is the treatment

that I used," he shares that experience and he maybe able

to help somebody else who then may find his own treatment

and they maybe able to help somebody else.

And I think that is how we battle PTSD.
