It's definitely difficult to bring up suppressed memories.
It was really hard at first.
It was actually really hard the whole time.
It did get easier.
You actually record yourself, and then you listen to it,
so it in some way tricks your brain into accepting it
because it's really hard to attach yourself to the situation
after suppressing it for so long.
You kind of feel like it wasn't you or it didn't happen to you,
but it forces you to accept that, "This did happen to me,
and I'm going to be OK, and it's going to get better."
Suppressing it, pretending like it didn't happen,
it just weighs really heavy on you,
and it doesn't get better that way.
