It cost me three marriages.

Curtis Creekbaum, US Army 1972 - 1979, talks about how his PTSD affected his loved ones.

Transcript

PTSD has cost me three marriages,

and I have children by each of those marriages, so

it's affected those children, growing up.

I isolated by driving truck over the roads,

so I was, you know, I would come in and

I would try to be a father, but you know, a lot of times,

I would have already been into the alcohol,

so it was just, it was kinda like a dog chasing it's tail.

One of the worst times that PTSD ever affected my family was

I got in fight with my wife, while my kids were watching,

and physically attacked her,

through the anger,

it was something that no child should have to see.
