I'm a living proof, you can get better and you can stop being angry all the time.

Mary Martin, US Air Force 1981 - 2005, shares her advice for others who may be concerned about PTSD.

I would say to the family members, don't tolerate any abuse

from us, no verbal abuse, no put-downs, no yelling,

no cutting you out of their lives.

Anything that's just not acceptable, that you wouldn't

accept from a kid, don't accept it from us.

That's really important to us

because I'm a living proof you can get better,

and you can stop being angry all the time,

and you can start enjoying life again and really be productive

and give back to other Veterans

who need to hear what happened.

What happened, what it was like, and what it's like now.

And now it's really good.
