I'm currently involved in a "Introduction To PTSD" group.

SPC Toby Brace (US Army, 1996 - present) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

I'm currently involved in a "Introduction

To PTSD" group type thing and I'm affiliated with other men

that are Vietnam timeframe, Afghanistan, Iraq.

There are about eight of us I guess.

And it's positive.

We had one of our gentlemen was like, "You know,

years ago there was nothing and it's like, this is great,"

and he was one

of our Vietnam-era people who's been silently dealing

with this for a very long time.

And it's definitely worth it.

I've actually had one of my fellow soldiers who served

with me in Afghanistan on the last tour has mentioned

that he's got a couple of things going on.

And I basically flat out told him that,

"Hey, I'm there with you.

This is new to me too.

I've been officially diagnosed with PTSD symptoms

and he really should take the time, whether to call

and if you want, I'm willing to go with you.

I'll take you there and introduce you to the people

that I'm working with."
