I'd wake up in the middle of the night.

Nina Whittam, US Air Force 1953 - 1954, talks about how she knew she had PTSD.

Transcript

I'd wake up in the middle of the night.

I was married several times but felt I couldn't trust a man.

And if that's not PTSD, I don't know what is.

And now I've been single 30 years,

and I still don't trust most men.

So, I don't know if you want to call that PTSD or not.

I don't know what it is, but I know that it was brought on

because of how I was treated when I was in the Air Force.
