I'd get mad and punch something.

Kevin Cottrell, US Army 1980 - 2008, talks about when he knew he needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

I would have to say when I first got back,

my wife when I had the anger, my outbreaks with anger

and just snap at the kids or snap at her or snap

at the dogs, anything.

Like I'd get mad, angry real quick, even at work,

I'd get mad and punch something.

And finally, she said to me, "You need to go see somebody

and get out there because I can't deal

with these anger issues anymore and anger, so."

And that was the start of it, and that's what got me

into going to therapy.
