I would have a nightmare.

Valerie Ovalle, US Army 2004 - 2005, talks about how she knew she had PTSD.

Transcript

Sleep with PTSD was nonexistent.

I slept maybe two to three hours a night.

The other times I was awake.

Every time I closed my eyes, I would have a nightmare.

I call them nightmares because basically that's what it was.

I would wake up in sweats and sweat all over my body

and just my heart racing.

So I was literally scared.
