Beth Talbott (Wife of a Veteran with PTSD) talks about how PTSD treatment changed things.

Transcript

I went with Bill to the introductory PTSD classes.

I wanted to know what type of class he was going to be

attending and how many sessions he was going to attend

and what the class was going to be about.

I was a little concerned about the CPT classes and the

writing format because of the dementia problem that he

particularly has, I was concerned about that aspect of it.

So I went to that, and then I also followed up

by going with him to his

psychologist and his psychiatrist sessions.

About every other month I would go to those appointments

and wait out in the waiting room so that if the doctors

needed to talk with me about how he was doing at home,

they could touch base with me, which they did do.

And I would highly recommend that to the spouses

or the significant others or family members,

that they go with their loved one to those appointments.

It helped out a great deal.
