I went and got my gun and started stalking through the house.

Brad Seitz, US Marine Corps 2002 - 2005, talks about when he knew he needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

The first time I actually felt

like I needed help was it was Memorial Day a few years back.

I guess some people were shooting off some fireworks

and one landed right on my front doorstep.

Me and my wife, we had all the lights out,

we were watching a movie and I snapped and just went into kind

of Infantry mode and I threw her

on the ground, told her to get down.

I went and got my gun

and started stalking through the house.

It kind of freaked her out and she said,

"I don't like seeing this side of you."

And I went to work the next day and my hands were shaking

and my heart rate was still up and I just didn't feel right.

And so that's the first time I went down to the VA

and actually said, "I think something is wrong

and I need some help."
