There are absolute places

that remind me of my trauma.

There are people

that remind me of my trauma.

And I would avoid those at all cost.

The one area in which

really bothered me once I came back

was a military facility close to our home.

I absolutely refused to go there.

I was scared.

I had to go on certain occasions,

and I would actually have a panic attack

before I got to the gate.

I would have to stop my car,

make my breathing slow down

in order to continue driving.

It was that traumatic for me.
