I was a loner...I was struggling with sobriety.

Steven D. Wiegert, US Marine Corps 1966 - 1968, talks about how he knew he had PTSD.

Transcript

I was working as a carpenter, construction.

It was important for me to work

to have self-worth through my job.

And I was an isolationist, I was a loner.

Motel rooms, I travelled job to job where I would rent a room,

a small place somewhere and work.

I still was struggling with sobriety,

another six years before I became sober.

I've been clean and sober 21 years.
