I was home two or three months and that's when the flashbacks started happening.

Chris Antonio, US Army 1999 - 2007, talks about how he knew he had PTSD.

Transcript

We were home for a couple days, then I had to return back

to the mobilization site.

Due to my injuries, I had to be medically cleared.

Once I was medically cleared, I then returned home and

thought everything was OK until I had my first flashback,

and I was not even aware of it.

My wife had to tell me what had happened, and a close friend

of mine, who had come in and taken me to the hospital,

had to make me aware of what had transpired in the home.

Once that happened, I was home probably about 2 or 3 months,

and then that's when the flashbacks started happening.

And I then received treatment

for the posttraumatic stress disorder.
