I remember my first
experience with the VA.
I hate to be so crass,
but it was like she has boobs,
ew, what do we do with her?
Like legitimately, that was the look
on these men's faces was
like, what are you doing here?
Again, I was being revictimized
like I wasn't a service member.
I wasn't a veteran.
It was, okay, throw some aspirin at me
and send me out the door,
and that was my very first experience.
So on top of the negative
experiences I had in the Navy,
here it is I'm looking for help
and I'm getting smacked in the face again.
