I tried to turn things into a joke a lot of the time...

Transcript

He liked his back to, kind of like, everybody else,

but he kind of wanted to see who comes in the door.

He doesn't care who's behind him,

but he just kind of wanted to see who comes in,

and then he would just stare, like,

he had a really bad eye problem.

He would just stare at people,

and then I would literally have to, like, snap him out of it

like, "Dad, you can't just look at people like that."

People take offense to that.

You just can't stare at people.

And then the minute someone stares at you,

then you're ready to go get a machete and just kill everybody.

I tried to turn things into a joke a lot of the time.

He would get upset because he would say that

I'm so nonchalant, I don't care about a lot of stuff,

I'm just, everything is a big joke to me,

but that's how I expressed myself.

Dealing with everything that I had to deal with as a child,

making jokes was just how I expressed myself.

That's how I made myself feel better.

When he was mad or had a attitude,

I would go and pick at him just to try to make him smile

because even if it was for a second,

it meant that he stopped thinking about

what he was thinking about to cause him to go into this rage.
