So we're now talking 13 years ago.
There was a similar situation
with someone in my family.
And when they came to me,
there was a moment that
I looked into their face
and I saw a look, and
granted it was two o'clock
in the morning, 2:30 in the morning.
But when I saw that face
and I saw their eyes
they didn't even have to tell me
why they were there in
the middle of the night.
I knew what had happened.
I knew because that was the same face
I had when I looked in
the mirror back in 1978.
And it's a shock,
it's a disbelief,
it's a pain.
That moment started me on
a year long spiral down.
A little bit more than a year after that,
my wife, my second wife
said that we had to end
and we had to separate
because it was too much.
Within a couple of weeks, I was like,
I knew what my problem was.
I knew what the issue was.
I just still didn't want to tell anybody.
