I knew I needed help.
I drove to the VA not knowing the process or the procedure.
I knew that if you ever get to a, they call it the hotline,
where you call the number for the hotline, my state of mind
that I was in that day was if I didn't drive to that hotline
that day I don't know where I would be.
So just to walk in
and immediately get a mental health doctor to talk with you,
that was a breaking point for me.
Once I made it in to talk with them,
and it was a strong session, I had a load that I had to unload
and that window was open.
All that mental health doctor would do is sit there
and to talk, to talk, to listen, to listen
and to talk back to me.
