I knew I needed help.

I drove to the VA not knowing the process or the procedure.

I knew that if you ever get to a, they call it the hotline,

where you call the number for the hotline, my state of mind

that I was in that day was if I didn't drive to that hotline

that day I don't know where I would be.

So just to walk in

and immediately get a mental health doctor to talk with you,

that was a breaking point for me.

Once I made it in to talk with them,

and it was a strong session, I had a load that I had to unload

and that window was open.

All that mental health doctor would do is sit there

and to talk, to talk, to listen, to listen

and to talk back to me.
