There was certain things that I saw while performing
as a Corpsman and it was kind of nerve rattling at the time.
Best way to describe it is that I just started becoming numb
to a lot of stuff that was going on.
And my responsibility was to go
over to the hospital whenever we had one of our guys admitted
or brought in on the chopper with an injury.
My civilian job is not in the medical field so doing this kind
of work was like, learn it on the fly.
And I felt rather helpless because I couldn't do more.
And with the one expiration, with the one that passed away,
it's just, I couldn't feel anything.
I couldn't feel any sympathy or sorrow for his loss.
It was just business as usual.
