I initially entered into substance abuse treatment first.

When it comes

to substance and PTSD treatment,

I’ve had both.

I initially entered into

substance abuse treatment first,

and while I was in substance

abuse treatment,

my VART counselor,

who was also in Iraq

at the same time I was,

suggested that I

might have PTSD.

He told me that there was an

inpatient, 11 week PTSD program.

He also informed me

that it was extremely intense

and it triggers a lot of people.

And he suggested that maybe

since I was doing that

massive amount of cocaine a day,

that I need to get a handle

on my drug use before

I did a treatment like that.

Which inevitably

was what worked for me.
