- Come on girl.

PTSD will drag your confidence down 'til you begin

to question what's your purpose,

what are you here for,

why are you here?

Before treatment, I didn't really care,

there was no motivation to go out

and try and find something to make your life worthwhile.

From treatment, I gained perspective into

what was going on in my mind and in my body.

Once you can recognize what's going on,

then you can start to move into endeavors

that allow you to be productive.

We started this with the idea of just being

our personal homestead,

growing organic heirloom potatoes, onions,

tomatoes, corn, you name it,

we were gonna try and grow it.

Are plans are to maybe share this with people,

sell it, provide it to retail markets,

and to me that's helping at least our little slice

of the community become either more sustainable

or better fed.

There's a military term called a mission,

treatment allowed me to recognize that I needed a mission.

What will our fields look like in three or four years?

Well, I'm hoping that the three acre field

will be pristine rows of cucumbers, and carrots,

and corn, and okra,

just about any type of produce you can think of.

It is a lot of hard work, but it's good hard work.

It feels great.
