I had to bring up some of the things that I had put in the back closet.

Bill Talbott (US Air Force, 1967 - 1971) talks about how PTSD treatment can help.

The sessions got easier at some points,

and then they got harder

because in the beginning, you're just learning the techniques,

learning what to do, and they take you baby steps.

And then when you get done with the baby steps

you're now taking adolescent steps, and then adult steps.

And by the time you're taking adult steps, you're delving into

not only your traumatic experience that you've had,

but you're also delving into other experiences

that have happened afterwards that were as or more traumatic

than what you had in the service.

And I had to bring up some of the things that I

put in my back closet that happened to me over the years,

specifically stuff in the family, and I had to bring them back

up again and re-look at them and how I handled them then,

how I look at them now, and how I'm going to cope with it.

Because it's something that's happened, it's not gone away.

It's there, it's done, and sometimes it's over with,

sometimes it's not, but it's baggage that I'm carrying.
