I had barricaded [the door] to my house so nobody could get in.

Transcript

I was on metro, going to
school in Falls Church

and I saw my abuser on the train.

And I just stopped, I
froze, I stopped breathing.

And I was terrified.

I was absolutely terrified.

And, so I got off the
train and I went home

and I convinced myself I was okay,

you didn't see him, get back on the train,

do it tomorrow girl, you got this.

And when I got back on
the train the next day

I did it again.

I saw him again.

And so I said I'm not gonna
get on the train anymore.

Then I started seeing
him in the grocery store.

Or seeing him at the library.

And so eventually I just
ended up being in my house

by myself secluded, barred in.

I had barricaded the doors
so nobody could get in.

And I really said to myself
you know what Yvonne,

you really need to get some help.

You're gonna get some help.
