I felt so alone.

Lee Norris, US Air Force 1993 - 2010, talks about when he knew he needed to get help for PTSD.

Transcript

I got to the point of,

and this was after I had been diagnosed,

that I was like, "I'm going to die, I want to die."

And that was my mentality, and I seriously came close.

And instead I drove myself to Togus, to the VA,

and I checked myself in there, and that was the best thing

I could have ever done for myself, was to get into

a full-term, or, a full-time treatment for a week or so,

to get you into a safe environment, have somebody

monitor your meds and make sure everything is going right,

and also just to realize that I'm not the only guy out there

going through this, because I felt so alone the whole time.

But once I did that, I realized it's not just me.
