I felt my role was to be part of the solution.

Karen Sullivan (wife of a Veteran with PTSD) shares advice for people who may be concerned about PTSD.

One thing that PTSD did do for us is that,

because we went through the process together

and that we were both really forced into it as far as

we started reading about it and learning about it,

and it made you stop and think about what's really important.

And if our goal was to be together,

then we had to figure out an answer, together,

how we were going to deal with this.

So it did force us to really stop and examine

who we were individually, who we were as a couple,

and it forced us to talk about all kinds of issues

that probably wouldn't have come up before,

as far as his depression, his anger.

And I felt my role was to be part of the solution as far as,

what's the best thing I can do today?

Do you want me to listen?

Do you want me to just get out of the way

so you can do your own thing?

What's my role today?
