I felt like a bad person, felt like a bad marine.

Eddie Hoffman (US Marine Corps, 2001 – 2010) talks about how moral injury made him feel.

Transcript

I struggled with the idea that

I was a bad person
or an immoral person. I...

it was more so

maybe that I didn't live up to

Marine Corps traditions.
Like, what,

Marines that have
come before me.

Like, I wouldn't make them proud
or I wouldn't make you know,

I wouldn't
even talk to other Marines

about some of the things
I went through

because I didn't feel like

what I had done were as good
as what they had done.

Felt like a bad person,
felt like a bad Marine,

like I'd done

some immoral things
and didn't deserve to be around

those that had done
so many good things

for the Marine
Corps and life in general.
