I eventually was able to find a social worker who cared so much about Vets.

Christopher D. Goehner (US Navy, 2003 - 2006) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

One of the hardest things from going from active duty

to civilian was changing social workers,

having to re-live the experiences.

When you change social workers,

they want to know your background the very

first session.

I hated every single first session because you had

to re-live the memories

and if you're switching social workers six times

in one year, that sucked.

I eventually was able to find a social worker who cared so much

about Vets and about the military.

He was still young enough and joined the National Guard

as an Infantryman, even after having his masters degree,

just so he could relate a little bit more.

It was worth finding a different social worker to find this guy

to help me through it.

And I'm very thankful for it.

But if I didn't continue to seek another person,

I wouldn't have found him

and he wouldn't be able to help like he has.
