I didn't see the changes in me.
I didn't realize
how poorly I was functioning perhaps
or the struggles that I was facing.
I knew that for me things like light and noise
and commotion, etc. were troubling.
I didn't necessarily
cognitively identify the need to get help
or to seek help.
It may be that the people in my life
didn't know what to do either.
This is a place where
a lot of people have cared for me and loved me
and stood in the midst of life with me.
But in the midst of difficulties,
as you know, what do you do?
And to a large extent, you just take one step at a time
and I'm fortunate that
there were folks able to help.
