I didn't go to therapy for 18 years.

Ron Whitcomb, US Army 1968 - 1969, talks about why he didn't ask for help with his PTSD right away.

Transcript

I didn't go to therapy for 18 years.

I was having a fairly decent life and I was very busy

and I had my own businesses, I raised three children by myself

and there was always some reason to keep going and keep myself

above water, because I felt like I was drowning at times

but there were other people, like the children,

it was their lives that I needed

to take care of more than myself.

And that was a big reason why I didn't seek treatment.
