[I did] a lot of remembering.

Rebecca Miller (US Army, 2001 – 2005) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

My treatment at
the beginning

when I first started seeing
the therapist I see now

was very difficult.

We started doing
worksheets for CPT therapy,

which is stuck points,

it's things that my
mind gets stuck on

that I believe is
the truth,

but is not always
necessarily the truth.

I did a lot of writing,
a lot of soul searching,

a lot of tears, a
lot of crying,

a lot of

remembering.

Yeah, it was very
difficult, it was

very difficult.

The hardest thing about
my therapy so far has been

talking about
what's happened,

and trying to
retrain my brain

that none of this stuff
happened because of me,

that it was,

I was at war, bad things
happen at war.

And none of 'em happened
because of my fault.
