I definitely
acknowledge
the generational trauma
that is in my life,
and that affects me
deeply
today.
And when I talk of generational trauma,
I'm speaking of
the
historical
trauma
that has
followed
from generation
to generation,
to generation to generation,
from slavery.
The
fear,
and
degradation,
and pain
felt
by
my ancestors,
which,
let's say
my mother's mother
and my great great grandmother's
mother were slaves.
And when I watch the images
of
the shootings, and rioting,
and
injustices that affect
the Black community,
my whole body
grieves.
My whole
being
is devastated.
And it's deeply embedded
in every cell of my body.
