I decided that I couldn't handle bringing any children into the world.

Curtis Thompson, US Army 1968 - 1969, talks about how his PTSD affected his loved ones.

Transcript

PTSD was such a significant factor even though no one

around me at the time knew it and I didn't know it,

don't think the term had been invented yet.

But the impact on me was so severe that at the age

of twenty-three or four,

I decided that I couldn't handle bringing any children

into the world and so I elected to have a vasectomy.

And so, no children.
