They didn't understand it, they just, it was a different era,

a different time, we were not respected.

I'm not going to play the Pitiful Pete role, though,

as I know most Veterans now don't.

Vietnam Veterans, they just, you know, that's the way it is.

But they didn't understand that because I came home

in a different era, a different time, and our country was

still split apart in the '60s and early '70s,

so they didn't understand it, and I couldn't tell them.

I couldn't relate to them.

That developed schisms in the family, and so

it was part of the problem.
