When we were living in North Carolina,
we had gone out, I think it was for a friend's birthday,
and a balloon had popped, and he reacted in such a way,
like, I could see it in his eyes
that he was having a flashback.
I could tell he didn't think he was there,
and that was probably one of the most frightening things
to see him go through because you know he is literally there
in front of you, but he is thinking something else,
and it's just scary.
It's scary he reacted in a way
where it was just a very abrupt,
just, like, stillness and looking around,
like making sure everything was OK.
It didn't look like he knew exactly where he was,
and it was frightening.
