I can govern and control my responses much better than I was able to before.

Diana Franz (US Army, 1981 - 1984) talks about how PTSD treatment can help.

Transcript

Treatment helps me to
deal with daily

life experiences

by allowing me to kind of
self-modulate my feelings

and emotions that I
can govern and control.

My response is much better
than I was ever

able to before.

When you have PTSD you're
reacting all the time.

You're not giving a
thought-through response,

and that's a huge
obstacle to overcome,

but the treatment's there
to work with someone

who's skilled to help you
get to that point

of responding,

rather than just reacting.

Once you get there
then you can see

there's so many more
options available to you,

and that

you're able to
keep your buttons

from getting punched so
quickly and so frequently.
