I think there are unbearable situations that

I've been through in combat that will always be unthinkable

and unimaginable to those who weren't there with me

or haven't experienced something like that.

Are they just, now, bad experiences?

I don't think so, I think they will always be,

by far, the worst experience I've ever had in my life.

Now, will my body react the same way over time?

No, because I think with the tools that I have now,

and the distance in time as time grows further

from that experience, and having the ability to cope, and

have the tools to move forward instead of staying stalled

in that same time, I can be a productive citizen and be

a loving wife and a good worker and, I hope, a good

photographer and a good stepmom to my husband's kids,

and I think that's all that I really had hoped for,

going to therapy.
