I came out feeling a lot better.

David Carpentier (US Army 1977 - 2009) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

To me, it was so unreal that here I am,

sitting in an office with my counselor,

reliving this experience.

Yet, I can smell the smells, I can hear the sounds,

I can-- my mouth being really dry

and even choking on the dust, I started coughing,

I start choking.

But yet, I'm only in a clinical environment.

And that was like, "Wow."

It was kind of weird to me.

But it was painful.

But never the less, it ended up being

what worked for me.

Every time I went, I had anxiety,

but when I left, I came out feeling a lot better.
