I began to sweat in the middle of our making love...

Albert M. Perna, US Army 1942 - 1945, talks about how his PTSD affected his loved ones.

Transcript

When we were enjoying each other's body, I began

to perspire, and my wife said, "What's the matter with you, Al?

You're not performing like you ordinarily would."

I said, "I don't know, sweetheart," I said,

"We're going to have to do this another time."

And these are some of the things that affected me and my wife

because I enjoyed that part of our life very much,

and my wife seemed to respond to me the same way.

And when I began to sweat, it would knock us completely off the

track, and you couldn't really finish what you really started.

That's most of the reasons why it affected my wife and me

because I figured that I was a better man than that.

But I couldn't help that, when I would begin to sweat

in the middle of our making love,

and this is the way it would affect us.
