One thing that I've always
been aware of culturally,
is that I am of Hispanic descent.
I am Puerto Rican.
I am Spaniard, French,
Taino Indian, and African,
and with that comes cultural differences.
Sometimes I have to be told,
"Use your inside voice,"
because my tonality, or the way I speak,
is just culturally who I am.
And I've always had this
awareness, you know,
because it's been taught to us that
in certain situations
you have to conduct
yourself in this manner
to survive what society puts on us.
