I am able to handle my emotions.

David Carpentier (US Army, 1977 - 2009) talks about how PTSD treatment can help.

Transcript

I am able to handle my emotions,

handle,

handle myself a little bit better.

I am not freaking out.

I am not,

you know, getting overly alert,

you know, that type of thing.

I'm able to

take a deep breath, settle down,

hey,

I can't change it anymore.

It already happened.

It's over with.

I'm not going to get hurt.

My people didn't get hurt.

What happened, happened.

It's beyond my control now.

I need to just get it past me

and, you know, move on,

but prolonged exposure is what has really worked for me

and I'm really grateful for the help that I got.

I feel it has made me a better,

a little bit more productive.
