One particular experience
I had recently that
came to mind
was that I was flying out
of town for a weekend,
and when I got to the
place I was staying,
I was really wound up.
I couldn't relax.
My legs were just really
tight and antsy
from sitting so long.
And by using mindfulness
skill of visualizing
a pleasant scene, or
something like,
just visualizing some
leaves floating
down a stream,
and just putting those
thoughts away with
those leaves
as they pass.
That brings you into a
calmer, more mindful state,
and I was able to relax and
get to sleep in no time.
I'm finding that I'm
able to use these tools
to relax my body, and that
I'm sleeping more hours,
and I actually feel rested
and healed when I wake
in the morning.
And that's a feeling that
I had not had for so long.
And no one should be
having to live that way.
