He took an anger management course,
realizing that his anger was getting the best of him,
and he took an anger management course,
and I was amazed by how much that helped.
Just, he's learned how to diffuse the situation.
So, when we get in a heated argument, he can now tell me,
"OK, I need to stop, I need to walk away,"
which before, would have never happened.
He would have just continued to scream and scream,
and it would have just gotten knock-out-drag-out --
not physically, honestly, but just the screaming was,
it was bad.
But now, we can actually talk things through
a little bit better, and I don't walk on eggshells.
I'm not afraid that I'm going to do something
that's going to trigger him to make him angry.
And if I do, I just say, "You know what?
You need to walk away from the situation for a few minutes."
Or, "I'm leaving for a few minutes.
I'll be back, but I think you need to cool down."
And we've learned that that works with us,
that if his anxiety and his stress levels are up,
that we can do stuff like that and we'll be OK.
