I think there probably were
many stressors that came together at once.
I think he was having problems at home
with his first wife, I think that was a huge stressor,
and that kind of triggered everything else as far as,
all of a sudden it seemed that that triggered,
he thought he had everything under control.
Don used to say that people that went to Vietnam
and came back and had problems were just complaining,
or they were babies and didn't really understand what to do.
And so he thought he had it all together.
He had a good job, he had a family, he had everything,
everything seemed to be in place,
and it seemed like several things came together.
There were problems at home, problems in the marriage,
his other Reserve unit did close down, and that was
a big stressor, and it just seemed like, for some reason
it was like the perfect storm, everything came together,
and it came to a head that the PTSD
was really underneath all of it.
