Everything just seemed like Iraq.

Guillermo Sanchez, US Army 2003 - 2006, talks about how he knew he had PTSD.

I remember when I first got out and I'll be walking

through the streets, especially when it was dark, it just felt,

ven if I was walking down the street home,

for some reason sometimes it would remind me

of Iraq 'cause everything was just dark and stuff.

And even normal apartments,

everything just seemed like Iraq.

So I don't know.

I had to, I mean, this is where I lived.

It didn't matter, it probably wouldn't have mattered

where I would have gone.

It would have always felt like I always need to aware,

vigilant of my surroundings.

Sometimes it just seemed like Iraq just looking

up at the windows or tall buildings and stuff like that.

It just seemed natural to do that sometimes.
