Everybody else was wrong instead of me.

Vince Bryant, US Marine Corps 2001 - 2009, talks about why he didn’t ask for help with his PTSD right away.

Transcript

There's two reasons why I didn't get help right away.

The first reason because I was still in Iraq.

Even though I was back in Houston, Texas,

I was still in Iraq.

The second reason,

because I felt that civilians were the ones

that was wrong.

There's nothing wrong with me,

I'm a decorated Marine.

I'm squared away, never had any issues in the military,

so everybody else was wrong instead of me.

So, basically, it was my mindset,

the mindset that I took on at that time.
