The events of his past came to the forefront.

Donald Sullivan Jr., Son of a Veteran with PTSD, talks about the signs of PTSD that he saw.

Transcript

When my dad really was diagnosed with PTSD, I was 17, 18.

There were signs, but my father was

really good at keeping himself busy

and hiding these signs from the rest of us.

I don't know if he was diagnosed so much as

everything changed, and he changed,

and the events of his past really came to the forefront.

I don't think he could deal with them anymore.

I don't know if part of it was I was 18, and,

"Well, at least he got one son through high school,"

and at the time, my brother was 12, but I just think

it came to the point where he couldn't hold it back anymore,

and that's, that's when it started.
