Chris Antonio (US Army, 1999 - 2007) talks about what PTSD treatment was like.

Transcript

The doctors had asked me to practice some simulations.

I had very, very vivid dreams of overpasses,

and one of the exercises to get over that fear

of the overpasses was to actually go underneath a bridge,

drive underneath the overpass and face my fears, really.

Because when we were in country, that's where

they would put a lot of the IEDs and everything,

was underneath the overpasses.

So, I was very reluctant for a while.

It took me quite some time before I could start

practicing that because in my mind, I was still in Iraq.

But eventually, after a while,

it started to get a little bit easier.
